Kent based young Race kart driver Jack Lead continues to thrive. Jack found Karting at a chance visit to the famous Buckmore Park circuit in Kent. Buckmore Park is known for being a welcoming and inclusive venue that encourages grass root participation in the fast paced, competitive sport of karting.
The idea of racing round a track appealed to Jack and he soon proved himself more than capable of holding his own and was soon in the Junior "rookie" championship. HIs talent and potential was spotted and he was fast tracked into the Junior Pro Championship.
Jack's father Patrick explained how the acceptance of the Karting community and Buckmore Park has had such a positive impact on his son's life. Patrick explained: "Jack like many young men was doing OK at mainstream school but like others was struggling with mild anxiety, speech and language. Jack has mild autism and this comes with additional challenges, however within Karting and at Buckmore Park he was given the opportunity to show his real talents and courage outside of mainstream education."
Patrick went on to explain that Jack was fortunate to have found two corporate sponsors who were willing to back him before he started winning. ADM Computing, one of the South of England's most successful Technology companies assisted at an early stage. Jack also had the support of Purple Ruler have now joined him. Purple Ruler provide on line teaching services to young people supporting mainstream education and outside for those people who have chosen an alternative educational journey.
Jack Lead proved his sponsors faith well founded in 2023 he won the Buckmore Park Junior Pro Lightweights Championships. In 2024 he won the BP adult sprint lightweights championships and then became the Buckmore Park driver of the year 2024.
Jack and father Patrick hope that by sharing his story it will encourage others to first look at the wonderful sport of Karting, especially at Buckmore Park in Kent, and also to look outside where they may be in accepted mainstream for a talent and passion they have yet to discover. Father Patrick explained further. "My son Jack was like so many others, he was doing OK at school, he had friends and would have got somewhere, but Karting has given him so much more. He stidies the sport in depth, the engineering principles, the science, the psychology and it also provides a wide social scene.." Patrick and Jack are forever grateful for the support of sponsers ADM Computing, Purple Ruler for faith when he was starting out and Buckmore Park and the sport of Kartiung for giving him the platform to prove him self a winner.
