Sevington IBF Customs and Transit Services Transition

HM Government has confirmed that Sevington Inland Border Facility (IBF) will cease providing Transit services in early 2027. The operational Transit and Customs functions currently carried out at Sevington will transfer to MOTIS’ Customs Facilities at Folkestone (Cheriton) and Dover.

With over 20 years’ experience in Customs Clearance and Transit Services, MOTIS is committed to delivering a seamless transition while continuing to provide the high levels of service and support our customers’ expectations, in partnership with the Port of Dover.

  • Transit Office of Departure (T1) Declarations
  • Export Transit Processing
  • Office of Transit Departure Formalities


MOTIS Dover Customs Facility

  • Transit Office of Destination (Import Transit)
  • Transit Check Only Movements
  • Import Customs Clearance
  • ATA & TIR Carnet Processing


What Happens Next?

There are no immediate changes to current procedures at Sevington IBF. Customers should continue using Sevington until the official transition takes place in early 2027.

As the Port of Dover’s chosen delivery partner, MOTIS works closely with HM Government and other key stakeholders to ensure a smooth transfer of these services. Further information will be provided to customers regarding implementation dates, operational guidance and transition information as it becomes available.
